Critical Book Review RS 130 Spring 2010 I. The book, The Amish In Their witness Words, Amish writings from 25 years of Family Life clipping, (Herald Press, Scottdale, PA library of Congress pg 400), is compiled by Brad Igou. In 1968, a magazine c aloneed Family Life came out with writings from Amish people that consisted of articles, stories of physiologic and mad struggles, and discussions approximately marriage and child rearing that all glow an Amish perspective. Chapter 2 The Amish Story This chapter talks about where the Amish and Mennonites came from. The Amish religion begins in 1527 in Switzerland and was founded by a Felix Manz, is obligated for starting the Anabaptist movement, and the Amish churches consider him a forefather in faith. The Mennonites get in their name from Menno Simons, who was a writer. The Amish get their name from Jacob Amman who was overly a writer at the time of the 1600s.
